For the past several years, I would come across while reading thru various photography articles and their photos from the Jarrettsville, Maryland Sunflower fields. Each time I would think how interesting and nice it would be to schedule some time and finally checkout the area.
Unfortunately, each time something else would come up and I would get totally distracted and side tracked, ultimately forgetting about the whole thing. Until much later on realizing my loss after seeing yet another picture article of what I missed!

This year was different, because I had a headstart with planning ahead, I actually called the Jarrettsville Pharmacy to ask about the blooming status of the fields, which are directly across the street and was told they just had just started to bloom.
So when I first arrived I was speechless, there was shades of green and yellow everywhere flowing up and over hills, Mother Nature at its finest! I made a point of coming up several different times in order to see the sunflowers before first light with morning due on the petals.

Another visit had taken place the following day, this time I arrived later in the morning around 11am, and unlike how things were early in the morning, the neighborhood insects
were very busy to say the least!
The day was very sunny and the Bees and Butterflies were definitely taking advantage of the nice weather, gathering pollen during their frequent visits along the way. Look foward to visiting the Sunflower Fields in Maryland again come next summer.

For those that are interested wanting to know the location of the Sunflower Fields, visit the website http://www.clearmeadowfarm.com they are the family of farmers that plant the crops and have a listing of their crops, look for “Sunflowers”, click on it, and you will see another screen which will display Google directions with pinpoints depicting the exact location and area roads.
